The Swedish East African Chamber of Commerce (SWEACC) and the Kenya Healthcare Federation (KHF) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen private-sector partnerships and healthcare delivery between Sweden and East Africa. Picture above left show the signing ceremony where Dr. Anna Musuva (CEO of KHF) and Tamara Nerima (SWEACC Board Member) signed the MOU at Swedish Ambassador resident in Nairobi. One focus area we will focus on is oncology in Kenya. Cancer has become one of Kenya’s fastest-rising health and economic threats, with about 48,000 new cases and 33,000 deaths annually. Patients are diagnosed late, diagnostic delays, and there is need for better and more early detection systems, beside cost-efficient treatments. SWEACC and KHF want to create new private- sector partnerships aim to rebalance the cancer ecosystem toward prevention, timely diagnosis, modern treatment and sustainable industrialization.
