Ethio–Sweden Business Event 2025 in Addis Ababa

The Swedish East African Chamber of Commerce (SWEACC) is pleased to announce the Ethio–Sweden Business Event 2025, a high-level forum dedicated to advancing trade, investment, and innovation between Ethiopia and Sweden. On November 12–13, 2025, government representatives, business leaders, and investors will convene in Addis Ababa to engage in strategic dialogue and foster new opportunities for bilateral cooperation.

A Platform for Trade and Innovation

Organized in collaboration with the Embassy of Sweden in Ethiopia, the Embassy of Ethiopia in Sweden, and SWEACC, the two-day program will include:

  • Keynote addresses by senior representatives from diplomacy, business, and industry.

  • Sector-specific panels and roundtable discussions addressing investment, entrepreneurship, and sustainable development.

  • Diaspora innovation spotlights, highlighting Ethiopian–Swedish contributions to business and technology.

  • Investor matchmaking sessions and thematic workshops, designed to build concrete partnerships.

Following the main forum, optional field visits and B2B investor tours will be offered between November 14–15, providing participants with the opportunity to engage directly with local markets and explore cultural exchange.

Two categories of tickets are available:

  • Standard (Non-Members): 4,200 SEK ( excl. VAT)

  • SWEACC Members & Partners: 3,200 SEK ( excl. VAT)
    Full access to the two-day forum, including keynote sessions, sector-focused roundtables, and networking activities.

Welcome to next Green City cluster meeting October 21th

The SWEACC Green City cluster are meeting again on October 21th to discuss energy opportunities in East Africa for Swedish Companies with an extra focus on Ethiopia.

One of the speakers will be Per Ljungstrand Co-Founder Green Coal Ethiopia AB  making a presentation called "Building Green Coal in Ethiopia". Another speaker will be Justine Abuga CEO Ecobora  making a presentation called "Developing the institutional cooking business across East Africa". More speakers might be added and we will also introduce members to a delegation trip to Ethiopia in November, see more below. 

This cluster event will be moderated by Cluster Manager Tom Walsh, also CEO for Renetech. 

Ethio-Sweden Business Forum 2025

Green energy and infrastructure will also be an important subject during the Ethio-Sweden Business Forum 2025 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, on November 12-13th. Join this unique gathering that brings together influential voices shaping the future of business and innovation between Ethiopia and Sweden. 

This event will feature insights from leaders at the Swedish Embassy in Ethiopia, the Ethiopian Investment Commission, and Team Sweden. You’ll also hear firsthand from trailblazing diaspora innovators.

The event is free of charge for all SWEACC members, for non-members the event fee is 450 kr but we allow first time guests for free. Please note that if you as member or non-member register and don’t attend or cancel 24 hours before the event we reserve the right to debit 450 kr + VAT (moms) for our expenses.

SWEACC Business & Investment Forum 2024

During the SWEACC Business & Investment Forum 2023 in Uppsala, SWEACC signed a MOU with the Private Sector Foundation Uganda (PSF Uganda) to work together for the upcoming forum to be held in Kampala, Uganda. The SWEACC Business & Investment Forum (SWEACC - BIF 2024) will be held at hotel Munyonyo Commonwealth Rssort in Kampala March 4 th followed by EU Uganda Business Forum 2024 from March 5 to 7 th in Kampala.

SWEACC - BIF 2024 will focus on sustainable business and investment opportunities in East Africa and the theme will be Green energy and value added funding solutions and opportunities in East Africa with a focus on generating opportunities for deals and partnerships for attendees. The main goal with next SWEACC Business Investment Forum is to increase and sustain business opportunities including but not limited to infrastructure, energy, health, waste, water, and sanitation in East Africa.

SWEACC Business & Investment Forum is an annual event organized by the Embassies from the East African Community (EAC) accredited to the Kingdom of Sweden (Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania, and Uganda) in partnership with SWEACC. We will also invite the other member states inside EAC namely Republic of Burundi, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and the Republic of South Sudan. This is the 13th year we are holding this forum with every other year in Sweden, and other in East Africa. In 2023 we had the forum in Uppsala, Sweden, before that it was Nairobi, Kenya (2022), and now in 2024 we are coming to Kampala, Uganda.
